He has been a Systems Administrator and Telecoms Manager for the past 7 years, with strong emphasis on server building and administration, including security and accessibility enhancement techniques in both Windows NT/2000 and Unix/Linux server environments. John is very familiar with SunOS/Solaris, SGI IRIX, RedHat Linux, FreeBSD and Caldera OpenLinux, as well as all flavors of Microsoft Windows and DOS. John is a Certified Electronics Engineering Technician, with troubleshooting skills to the component level. He has had extensive experience with most computer hardware platforms including IBM, Sun, SGI, HP, Compaq, Apple, Dell, and countless Intel and Alpha based PC clones, Sparc based clone workstations and Macintosh based clones. John also has Voice and Data cabling installation and troubleshooting skills, including several years of Cat3 Cat4, Cat5E, and 100BaseFX installations. Currently, John is also very fluent in Cisco and Nortel configuration and programming languages.
